Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder that manifests in the progressive destruction of the skin’s pigment-producing cells. This results in white patches on the skin and in some cases white hair. Vitiligo is not contagious. Research suggests that it may be hereditary but there is still a lot to uncover about this disorder. Currently, there is no cure for vitiligo. Over 1% of the world's population have been diagnosed with vitiligo. That's over 77 million people!
